The short version
- No cookies, on this website or in the app.
- Three small notes in your browser’s session storage, for this visit only: whether you’ve come in, whether the sound is on, and a moment’s note as you move between pages. Nothing in local storage.
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels, no social media buttons.
- Nothing loads from another company: the fonts, the 3D scene and the sound all come from this site.
- If you join the launch list, your email goes to our email provider. That isn’t a cookie, and the privacy policy explains it.
What this website keeps on your device
No cookies. The site keeps three small notes in your browser’s session storage, each only so the site works:
| Note | What it’s for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
mull:entered | That you’ve come in past the loader, so the home page doesn’t ask you to press Enter again | Until you close the tab |
mull:sound | Whether you turned the sound on, so the next page keeps it on or off | Until you close the tab |
mull:tx | That you’re moving between the site’s pages, so the next one opens out of the same ring | Deleted as soon as the next page opens |
Session storage belongs to the one tab. Other websites can’t read it, it’s never sent to us, and your browser clears it when you close the tab. Nothing is kept in local storage. The sound itself is made live in your browser. Your browser may also cache the site’s files so it loads faster next time, as it does for any website, and you can clear that cache whenever you like.
Server logs
This website is hosted by Vercel. Like any host, its servers may keep ordinary logs, such as your IP address, your browser, and which page you asked for and when. They are kept for a short time to keep the site secure and running. We do not use them to identify you, follow you, or build a profile of you.
The app
The Mull app does not use cookies either. To work, it keeps a few things on your phone: your sign-in, so you do not have to sign in every time, and a copy of your ledgers, so the app opens instantly and works without signal. If you allow notifications, iOS gives the app a notification token. None of this is used for tracking, and what we collect is set out in the privacy policy.
Why there is no banner
Cookie banners are there to ask your permission for things that are not needed to run a site, such as analytics and advertising. This site does none of that, so there is nothing to ask. If that ever changes, we will ask first and update this page.
